Job summary

Humana is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to contribute to Salesforce Health Cloud solutions powering our Primary Care initiatives. You will design, build, test, and support Salesforce-based applications while growing expertise in healthcare tech and modern software practices.

Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and IT to deliver scalable solutions; participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and CI/CD processes. This remote role offers growth and impact across Humana's member experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
2+ years of software engineering or application development experience.
2+ years of Salesforce development experience (Apex, Flows, Lightning Components, OmniStudio).
Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud; Health Cloud is a plus.
Experience with APIs, integrations, or connected enterprise applications.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC practices.
Experience using AI-powered tools to improve development productivity, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Understanding of AI concepts like LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic development.
Completion of Humana's AI skills assessment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Salesforce Health Cloud solutions using Apex, Flows, OmniStudio, and Lightning Components.
Configure Salesforce functionality to meet business requirements and improve UX.
Build and support custom workflows, automations, and platform-based solutions.
Assist integrations between Salesforce and enterprise apps via APIs and integration platforms.
Participate in design, testing, deployment, and support of new features.
Follow engineering standards, coding best practices, and security requirements.
Partner with product owners, analysts, and stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
Collaborate across Sales, Operations, Marketing, and IT to deliver quality apps.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews; contribute to knowledge sharing.
Communicate project status, challenges, and risks effectively.
