Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks a Safety Manager to lead company-wide safety programs for DoD maintenance and repair projects. You will manage SMS, conduct incident investigations, deliver training, and drive compliance with OSHA and USACE EM 385-1-1 standards, coordinating with project teams and contractors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in safety-related field, 5+ years’ experience, and the ability to brief senior officials quarterly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in occupational health and safety, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction, repair, or maintenance.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; strong communication with stakeholders.
• Pre-employment screenings including background check, MVR, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) for RMMR and integrate with corporate functions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, and safety standards; conduct inspections and audits.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions with project teams.
• Develop and deliver safety training for personnel and contractors.
• Lead safety incident investigations and prepare regulatory reports as required.
• Develop emergency plans and conduct drills; participate in safety meetings and committees.
