Job summary

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a Safety Manager (SPD-AF) to lead the Safety Management System for DoD-related maintenance and repair projects. This remote role requires coordinating safety programs, training, audits, and incident investigations.)

You will ensure regulatory compliance, develop emergency response plans, and mentor staff while working with project teams across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years safety management experience, preferably in construction/maintenance.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems, training, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Manage SMS for RMMR; implement safety programs in line with regulations.
• Monitor compliance with federal/state/local rules and USACE EM 385-1-1.
• Identify hazards, conduct AHAs, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and deliver safety training for teams and contractors.
• Lead investigations of incidents and prepare regulatory reports.
• Perform audits and drive corrective actions with project teams.
• Develop emergency plans and conduct drills; coordinate with agencies.
• Communicate safety updates to stakeholders and lead safety meetings.
