Job summary

Axiom is hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer to build Rust-based rollup nodes and sequencers for zero-knowledge proofs on-chain. You will design secure, scalable systems and contribute to blockchain protocol development in a remote-friendly setting.

We value strong engineering design, a security mindset, and clear communication as we scale fast in a crypto-first environment. NY presence is preferred, but remote candidates are welcome with equity as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Rust, C++, or a similarly performant backend language.
• Experience deploying and monitoring high uptime applications in the cloud using orchestration and containerization.
• Experience working within a large production codebase.
• Extremely detail oriented with a security mindset.
• You’re a clear communicator and value collaboration.
• You have a bias towards action and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Build Rust-based rollup nodes and sequencers for zero-knowledge proofs on-chain.
• Design secure and efficient systems and make pragmatic tech choices.
• Design and implement blockchain protocols and tooling.
• Collaborate with a small team to accelerate development without compromising security.
