Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Rural Fire Program Coordinator in Grand Rapids to administer the Volunteer Firefighter Assistance grant program and oversee FEPP and DoD-FFP property programs within the Forestry Division.

The role requires coordinating grants, budgets, planning and reporting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines while collaborating with structural fire service agencies statewide.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years experience coordinating, training, or administering programs serving fire departments and managing grants, contracts, and agreements.
• Two (2) years advanced level professional experience leading a complex program including planning, staff leadership, budgeting, and program implementation.
• Three (3) years intermediate professional experience administering sub-programs or single programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer the VFA program activities using federal and state grant funds.
• Lead FEPP and Firefighter Property programs for the division statewide.
• Facilitate collaboration between structural fire service agencies and the MN DNR Division of Forestry.
• Evaluate and monitor acquisitions to meet state and federal guidelines.
