Job summary

Department of State Health Services in Austin, TX seeks a Rules Coordinator to support the Office of Compliance & Accountability. The role focuses on consulting, coordinating, and providing technical writing for administrative rules in line with TAC and TREO guidelines.

You will track rule projects, provide feedback to SMEs, and help maintain internal resources for rulemaking. Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in government, political science, social work or related field.
• Experience researching and analyzing federal or state laws, regulations, and policies.
• Experience with rulemaking or creating rules based on policy, statute or legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage TAC/TREO rule projects; log, track, route projects and develop metrics.
• Coordinate TREO initiatives; identify rules for reduction and formatting improvements.
• Edit rule documents in line with APA and TAC requirements; advise leadership.
• Support the other Rules Coordinator; assist with writing, editing, and rule access.
• Assist with LAR hearings, advisory committees, and open meetings; participate in disaster readiness.
