Job summary

Focus Financial Partners is seeking a Royalty Analyst to support entertainment clients with large data sets in Excel, auditing royalties and licensing across music and merchandising. The role emphasizes accuracy, pivot tables and advanced Excel formulas.

Remote-based in the Eastern or Central Time Zone with preference for NYC or Nashville, TN, you will work with GRF, Focus Partners Business Management, on compliance examinations and data-driven claim analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related degree is highly preferred.
• Education or internship experience within music, business management, entertainment, or royalties is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and formulas.
• Experience with Power Pivot and Power Query is a plus.
• General understanding of mathematical and accounting principles.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytically driven.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Genuine interest in supporting entertainment clients and royalties.

Responsibilities

• Assist managers with music royalty audits for record companies, publishers, and merchandising firms.
• Assist with licensing audits for Consumer Products Companies on behalf of IP rights holders.
• Plan audit steps for anticipated engagements and download/ summarize royalty statements.
• Draft summaries of contracts and modifications and liaise with document requests.
• Organize and manipulate large datasets within Excel and analyze data for underpayments.
• Perform reconciliations and rate analysis, prepare written reports of findings.
• Maintain electronic file organization and stay informed on industry topics.
• Review responses to audit reports and conduct fieldwork as needed.
