Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient's physiologic health status and conducts comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the care plan to achieve expected outcomes.
• Administers medications correctly and safely per department policy.
• Provides patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Maintains accurate documentation of care, interventions and outcomes.
• Demonstrates clinical judgment and delegates assignments appropriately.
• Performs skin care, wound care and related procedures per protocol.
• Leads in emergency situations and ensures patient safety.
• Participates in quality improvement and performance analytics.
