Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; BSN program enrollment within 2 years and BSN degree within 5 years of hire.
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required; specialized certifications as needed.
• PEDS hematology/oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-specific care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Collaborates with physicians and health-team members to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Directs and delegates activities of the patient care unit team while ensuring safety and quality of care.
• Maintains thorough documentation and supports discharge planning and referrals.
