Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a caring, self-motivated registered nurse to serve as a Medical Case Manager in California. This role blends work from home with local travel, Monday–Friday business hours, and a focus on supporting injured workers and their families.

You will collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and employers to coordinate recovery, evaluate treatment plans, and ensure appropriate, cost-effective care across a defined jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• RN Medical Case Manager experience preferred, or a clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in California.
• CCM, CIRS or other case management certification preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and telephonic Medical Case Management with patients, physicians, employers and referral sources.
• Discuss current treatment plans with physicians and discuss alternative options.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment plans for medical necessity and cost effectiveness.
• Attend doctors’ visits and discharge planning conferences as needed.
• Travel locally up to ~60% and occasional overnight trips.
