Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a qualified nurse to join the Section for Long-Term Care as a surveyor and complaint investigator in Kansas City. This professional role works on a multi-disciplinary team to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and may telecommute after training.

Responsibilities include conducting surveys, licensure inspections, investigations; monitoring care quality in long-term care facilities; and communicating findings clearly to stakeholders while adhering

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication and customer service with residents, providers, and the public.
• Must have RN licensure in Missouri or under Nurse Licensure Compact; submit official transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys, licensure inspections, complaint investigations, and related activities.
• Monitor care in long-term care facilities to ensure quality of life and care per regulations.
• Communicate information clearly and professionally, with respect for individuals' preferences.
• Attend team meetings, share workload, and rotate on-call duties including potential facility visits.
• Present information to identify regulatory violations with multiple evidence sources.
