Job summary

Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse/Delegating Nurse (RN/DN) to support individuals with developmental disabilities under Maryland's DDA program.

Responsibilities include health assessments, developing care plans, delegating medication administration to DSPs, coordinating with physicians, and maintaining compliant medical records with a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license
• Maryland DDA Delegating Nurse certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience with individuals with IDD preferred
• Strong knowledge of Maryland DDA regulations and delegation procedures
• Excellent communication and training skills for working with DSPs and teams
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritize effectively
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with advocacy focus

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized health care plans under Maryland DDA guidelines
• Delegate and train DSPs on medication administration and health tasks per DDA protocols
• Monitor, evaluate, and document health status of individuals with IDD
• Coordinate care with physicians and other providers for continuity of care
• Conduct regular follow-up visits and reassessments for safe task delegation
• Respond to medical concerns, incidents, and emergencies promptly
• Maintain accurate medical records compliant with DDA and state regulations
