Job summary

Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Registered Nurse / Delegating Nurse (RN/DN) to support individuals under Maryland DDA guidelines. The role includes nursing assessments, care plan development, and DSP delegation for medication administration.

The candidate will monitor health status, coordinate with healthcare providers, and maintain compliant medical records. Flexible work-from-home options are available and experience with IDD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Maryland.
• Maryland DDA Delegating Nurse certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with individuals with IDD preferred.
• Knowledge of Maryland DDA regulations and delegation procedures.
• Strong communication and training skills for working with DSPs and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized health care plans for individuals supported under Maryland DDA guidelines.
• Delegate and train direct support professionals (DSPs) on medication administration and health-related tasks per Maryland DDA delegation protocols.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document the health status of individuals with IDD.
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Conduct regular follow-up visits and reassessments to ensure delegated tasks are being performed safely and correctly.
• Respond to medical concerns, incidents, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
