Job summary

Maple is seeking Registered Nurse (RN) Contractors to support labs and referrals operations, helping patients with timely follow-up and guidance from lab results and referrals issued through the Maple platform. This is a remote, on-demand role with variable hours to cover higher volumes.

You will review labs, identify urgency, contact patients for critical results, and escalate complex cases to physicians while assisting with referrals and documentation for Canadian patients.

Qualifications

• BScN required and active licensure with a provincial/territorial college.
• No active malpractice investigations and professional liability coverage.
• Experience in a patient-facing clinical setting preferred (primary care, medical-surgical or emergency).
• Strong clinical judgment reviewing labs and specialist documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, tech-enabled environment.
• Comfort with Mac and quick learning of new digital tools.
• Excellent English communication skills; French is a plus but not required.
• Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clinically review lab results and assign follow-up recommendations.
• Identify abnormal or critical results and determine urgency of follow-up.
• Contact patients directly for critical results requiring immediate care.
• Escalate complex cases to physicians as appropriate.
• Support referrals by preparing documentation and forms.
• Assign referrals to appropriate clinics based on location and need.
• Redirect unresponsive clinics or declined referrals.
• Review specialist reports to determine if follow-up is needed.
• Support additional workstreams based on scheduling and operational needs.
