Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Telephonic Case Manager for a remote role in the United States. The candidate will coordinate medical case management, assess progress, and discuss treatment options with physicians to ensure quality care and cost efficiency.

Strong nursing background and URAC certification eligibility within 3 years are preferred. Responsibilities include coordinating with patients, physicians, and payers; evaluating plans; and preparing reports while meeting productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in state of operation.
• 3+ years of recent clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation.
• URAC recognized Case Management certification required within 3 years of hire if no nationally recognized certification is present at time of hire.
• Strong cost containment background, such as utilization review or managed care helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical case management through coordination with patient, physician, other health care providers, employer, and referral source.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient’s progress.
• Evaluate treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness.
• Discuss current/allocation plans with physician using medical knowledge.
• Make medical recommendations of available treatment plans to payer.
• Coordinate delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
• Devise cost-effective strategies for medical care.
• Prepare organized reports within a specified timeframe.
• Meet minimum productivity standard of 95% per month.
