Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a Telephonic Case Manager for a remote role. You will coordinate medical case management with patients, physicians, and employers, and evaluate treatment plans for cost effectiveness and medical necessity.

Ideal candidates hold RN licensure with a BSN preferred, 3+ years clinical experience, and URAC/ CCM/ ACM within 3 years if not already certified. Strong communication and MS Office skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; BSN preferred.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in state of operation.
• 3+ years of recent clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation.
• URAC recognized Case Management certification to be obtained within 3 years if none at hire.
• Strong clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation preferred.
• Certification as a CIRS or CCM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical case management with patient, physician, and employer.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Discuss current and alternate treatment plans with physicians.
• Recommend medical treatment options to payer.
• Arrange delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
• Devise cost-effective strategies for medical care.
• Prepare organized reports within set timeframes.
• Meet 95% productivity per month.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
