Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Telephonic Case Manager to coordinate medical case management remotely, collaborating with patients, physicians, and payers to optimize treatment and contain costs. The role requires an RN license and several years of clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include assessing progress, planning care, evaluating plans for medical necessity, and coordinating equipment and nursing services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; current RN licensure.
• 3+ years of recent clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation.
• URAC recognized Case Management certification required within 3 years of hire if no certification is present at time of hire.
• Strong clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation preferred.
• Cost containment background such as utilization review helpful.
• Certification as a CIRS or CCM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical case management with patient, physician, and care team.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment plans for medical necessity and cost effectiveness.
• Discuss treatment options with physician and payer when needed.
• Arrange durable medical equipment and nursing services as required.
• Develop cost-effective strategies for medical care.
• Prepare organized reports within required timeframes.
• Maintain productivity standards and collaborate with team.
