Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) to lead scientific exchange, clinical research liaison, and congress support for Oncology and Urology in a remote US territory.

The RMSD will engage national and regional SLs, answer scientific questions, and guide investigator interactions while upholding rigorous ethics and regulatory standards. The role requires a PhD/MD/PharmD/DNP, proven MSL experience, and 3+ years in Oncology or Urology.

Qualifications

• Clinical (patient care) or research experience in assigned therapeutic areas beyond the terminal degree.
• Experience as Field-based medical science liaison (MSL).
• Minimum of 3 years of therapeutic area experience in Oncology or Urology.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scientific education, dialogue and ethics compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional relationships with national and regional Urology SLs to facilitate access to medical and scientific information.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain a medical contact within SLs.
• Address scientific questions and direct inquiries on external issues to appropriate resources.
• Review HQ-directed education to stay current with scientific and clinical developments.
• Identify barriers to patient enrollment in trials and assist in site identification and investigator engagement.
• Support Investigator Studies Program (MISP) and AOI alignment with research strategies.
• Engage in scientific meetings, data exchange, and congress exhibit activities.
• Gather feedback and insights to inform scientific strategy and prioritization.
