Job summary

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors for on-site risk surveys in the Des Moines, IA region. You will work from home or a local office, scheduling surveys and delivering risk control reports to insurance clients.

Travel within approximately 45 miles of Des Moines is typical, covering commercial properties and diverse industries. Ideal candidates have experience in commercial insurance and related fields, or can complete a 15-hour online certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety is a plus.
• In lieu of experience, a 15-hour online certification option is available.
• You must provide tools: camera/tablet, computer, printer, high-speed internet, reliable vehicle, measuring devices, and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site surveys and provide risk control reports to clients.
• Manage assignments, secure local appointments, and complete work on time.
• Survey various commercial operations to assess risks for property, liability, and other lines.
