Job summary

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors to perform onsite surveys and risk control reporting for commercial insurance clients. You will work from home or a home office, servicing Battle Creek, MI and surrounding areas within ~45 miles, managing your own schedule and assignments to meet client quality standards.

Preferred backgrounds include commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, loss control, underwriting, or fire and safety.

Qualifications

Self-directed with excellent communication and timeliness.
Ability to service onsite survey/inspection assignments within the Battle Creek, MI area and within ~45 miles.
Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting or fire and safety is a plus; 15-hour online certification option available.
Fees are negotiable depending on experience and job specifics.

Responsibilities

Schedule on-site surveys and provide risk control reports for insurance clients.
Manage assignments, secure local customer appointments, and complete work on time.
Evaluate businesses to identify hazards and improve safety for underwriters; focus on Property and General Liability, with related lines as needed.
