Job summary

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors to perform onsite surveys in the Storm Lake, IA area and surrounding locations within roughly 45 miles. You will schedule visits, prepare risk control reports for underwriting purposes, and manage your own assignments to meet deadlines.

Areas covered include commercial operations across retail, restaurants, hotels, and more, with recommendations to improve safety and reduce losses.

Qualifications

• Self-directed independent contractor with strong communication and computer skills.
• Willing to work from home or office and service onsite surveys within ~45 miles of Storm Lake.
• Preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, or fire & safety; certification option available.

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site surveys and deliver risk control reports for underwriting needs.
• Manage assignments, secure client appointments in local territory, and complete work on time.
• Identify hazards and provide recommendations to reduce loss and safety risks.
