Job summary

Lloyd & Whyte, part of Benefact Group, seeks a Risk & Compliance Manager to lead the Annual Compliance Monitoring Programme and raise regulatory awareness across the business. The role supports the Group Risk & Compliance team with strong leadership and strategic oversight, while enabling remote work with quarterly office presence across the UK.

The successful candidate will drive risk identification, control enhancements and regulatory reporting to meet FCA and other standards, guiding teams

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating within a regulated environment, with a strong understanding of FCA regulations, including Consumer Duty, Conduct Risk and wider compliance requirements.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams, share expertise, and support the delivery of business objectives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, present, build relationships and deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
• Sound commercial awareness and knowledge of insurance products, distribution channels and business processes, balancing regulatory obligations with business objectives.
• Exceptional organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, lead projects and drive continuous improvement using data and insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the Risk & Compliance framework, ensuring adherence to FCA, Data Protection, financial crime, and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage compliance monitoring, audits, risk assessments, regulatory reporting, and the investigation of breaches, complaints, and control weaknesses.
• Oversee compliance approvals and governance processes, ensuring customer-focused, compliant communications, financial promotions, and business activities.
• Deliver and maintain the Training & Competence programme, providing guidance, coaching, and regulatory training to support a strong compliance culture.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks, enhancing controls and processes, promoting best practice, and supporting the achievement of business objectives and regulatory standards.
