Fermilab is seeking an RF Controls Engineer to research, design, develop, and test real-time DSP and control systems for LLRF applications that keep Fermilab's experiments running.

The role requires FPGA firmware development with Quartus and Vivado, SOC FPGA software in Linux, Python scripting, EPICS/LabVIEW interfaces, and MATLAB/Simulink proficiency. Telecommuting is permissible from anywhere in the United States.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field is required.
• 2 years of relevant experience in FPGA programming and related areas.
• Must have experience with Python, Matlab/Simulink, and circuit design/simulation.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and test real-time DSP and control systems for scientific use.
• Develop FPGA firmware using Quartus and Vivado.
• Coordinate manufacturing, installation, and testing to meet project specs.
• Develop SOC FPGA software/firmware in Linux environment.
• Script engineering calculations in Python and develop DSP software.
• Work with EPICS and LabVIEW interfaces for accelerator controls.
• Utilize MATLAB, Simulink for system design and simulation.
