Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Revenue Cycle Financial Specialist for a remote, work-from-home position. You will collect and verify demographic, guarantor and insurance information, educate patients and staff on the financial process, and coordinate with coverage vendors to optimize reimbursement.

This role requires experience in medical insurance verification, familiarity with authorization workflows, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical insurance verification or hospital finance experience.
• Windows-based PC proficiency.
• Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Good analytical and financial assessment skills with attention to details.

• Independent problem solving with team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Register and collect demographic, guarantor, and insurance data via phone or in person.
• Verify benefits and coverage for scheduled services.
• Obtain referrals/authorizations to ensure reimbursement.
• Assist patients with financial assistance applications.
• Help patients explore insurance options and financial aid.
• Coordinate with vendors and departments to complete Medicaid and other applications.
• Manage patient accounts across outpatient, inpatient, ED, and UCPG.
• Explain patient rights and payment responsibilities.
• Meet daily productivity and quality standards.
