Job summary

Impact Advisors is seeking a Coding Auditor to perform routine, focused, and validation audits of professional coding across specialties to evaluate accuracy, documentation support, and reimbursement impact. You will review findings and provide clear feedback to drive quality and compliance.

You will mentor staff, stay current on ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and payer guidelines, and assist with denials analysis. This remote-friendly, non-exempt role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of medical coding auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and payer guidelines.
• Experience conducting coding audits and providing audit feedback.
• Ability to interpret medical documentation and assign accurate codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
• CPC, CPMA, CCS-P or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Auditing and Quality Assurance: conduct root cause analysis on coding errors and report results.
• Education & Training: develop and deliver education sessions and onboarding materials for coders.
• Client Support & SME: serve as coding SME for clients and advise on coding, documentation, and compliance questions.
• Production Coding Support: assist with coding during peak periods and maintain productivity.
• Denials & Revenue Cycle Support: review denials and identify opportunities for appeal and prevention.
• Compliance & Process Improvement: stay current on coding rules and participate in audits.
