Qualifications

• 1+ years in a revenue cycle role.
• 3+ years of medical billing, claims, and/or insurance processing.
• Knowledge of government, managed care, and commercial insurance claim submission requirements.
• Experience with EHR systems and coding terminology.

Responsibilities

• Independently verify patient insurance eligibility and update demographics in Epic.
• Interact with insurers to obtain authorizations and document per policies.
• Research missing or erroneous information and identify unknown payors.
• Review and edit claims and appeals before submission to clearinghouse.
• Resolve claim issues per payor rules with limited supervision.
• Follow up with payors on unpaid aging claims and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and support team initiatives.
