Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager in San Francisco to lead the close cycle, apply ASC 606 and drive improvements across revenue, billing and ERP systems. This is an individual contributor role with cross‑functional influence and ownership of complex revenue processes.

You will partner with Revenue Ops, Deal Desk, Finance Data Services and Audit to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls and scalable automation using SQL and AI tools. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition principles.
• Experience leading monthly/quarterly close activities and improving speed/quality.
• Advanced Excel skills with large datasets.
• Ability to work independently with multiple workstreams under deadlines.
• Experience using AI tools in a professional context.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end monthly close activities including journals and analytics.
• Evaluate complex customer arrangements and apply ASC 606.
• Pull and validate data across contracts, billing, revenue systems and GL.
• Manage revenue subledger to GL reconciliations for deferred revenue and unbilled AR.
• Analyze data to explain drivers of revenue and other metrics.
• Lead system and process improvements; partner with Eng and Finance Data Services.
• Automate processes through SQL, scripts or workflow improvements.
• Support SOX controls and internal/external reporting.
• Prepare workpapers and respond to auditor requests.
• Collaborate with Revenue Ops, Billing, Legal, Sales Ops, FP&A.
