Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Resilience Engineering team, focusing on production load testing and chaos engineering to ensure safety and reliability of production systems.

You will define the vision, mentor engineers, and partner with infra, product, and security to embed resilience validation into the SDLC, building end-to-end observability and robust safeguards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in reliability or distributed systems.
• Hands-on production load testing and chaos engineering experience.
• Experience with chaos engineering vendors such as Gremlin or Harness.
• Strong understanding of failure modes in distributed systems.
• Familiar with AWS and Kubernetes and observability tooling.
• Strong programming background (Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the vision for resilience engineering with production load testing and chaos engineering.
• Lead and mentor engineers building platforms and tooling for safe production experimentation.
• Partner with infra, product, and security leadership to embed resilience validation in the SDLC.
• Own the design of platforms enabling safe production load testing and fault injection.
• Build systems with end-to-end observability and auditability for resilience experiments.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices for proactive validation.
