Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Reliability Platform Engineering team. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and scalability of production systems, combining observability, AI, and operational workflows to drive availability and resiliency.

You will partner with Infrastructure and Product Engineering to define standards, build tooling, and promote best practices across the company.

Qualifications

7+ years of backend or full stack engineering experience with 2+ years in leadership.
Experience with Production Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering teams.
Expertise with observability tools and reliability programs.
Strong operational judgment and prioritization in ambiguous spaces.
Experience building internal platforms, tooling, or automation at scale.
Strong programming background: Python, Java, or Kotlin; leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performance product engineering team focused on reliability and execution.
Leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate platform development and automation.
Translate operational challenges into clear technical plans with measurable outcomes.
Develop scalable reliability and risk-management capabilities for production systems.
Build systems to map service ownership, dependencies, and topology.
Align Platform Engineering, SRE, Infra and product teams on roadmap and investments.
Drive cross-functional reliability initiatives with high visibility.
