Good Business Lab (GBL) is a research‑to‑action nonprofit focused on high‑quality jobs for low‑income workers. We seek a Research Manager to lead grant writing, mentor staff, and oversee two U.S. projects, including AI‑assisted job matching and cash-incentives studies.

The role is remote with teams in Philadelphia and Ann Arbor; annual compensation ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, dependent on experience and fit. 1‑year fixed term contract.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in economics, statistics, public policy or related field.
• Experience leading randomized controlled trials.
• Strong quantitative skills; proficient in Stata or R.
• Grant writing experience and ability to manage projects.
• Mentor staff and oversee multiple research tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant writing and prepare reports for funding agencies.
• Mentor Research Assistants and staff; assist with hiring/training.
• Assist with literature reviews, data collection and planning.
• Ensure IRB approvals and research protocols are followed.
• Identify risks to research design and propose solutions.
• Maintain clear communication among researchers and partners.
• Coordinate with admin/finance on payments and costs.
• Prepare policy memos and research briefs.
• Represent GBL at meetings with external stakeholders.
