Job summary

Mass General Brigham Health Plan is seeking a seasoned professional to lead research and policy development for medical technologies and coverage decisions from a remote location. You will collaborate with medical leadership and cross-functional teams to drive evidence-based coverage and utilization management strategies.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in health plan settings, and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of research experience in medical technology or healthcare services.
• 2–3 years in health plan, managed care, or health insurance industry preferred.
• 1–2 years in medical policy development, utilization management, or health technology assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare agenda for the Medical Technology Assessment Committee with key stakeholders.
• Research and summarize medical literature, benchmarking, coding, regulations, and medical economics analyses.
• Update and maintain the list of services designated as Experimental/Investigational for each line of business.
• Recommend coverage status based on synthesis of research findings.
• Prepare agenda for the Prior Authorization Committee with chairs and analytics team.
• Research relevant coding, benchmarking, and regulations for committees and policies.
• Recommend utilization management strategies informed by value analysis and related considerations.
