Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks an Analyst LG 1 to support the Office of Research Integrity and Ethics (ORIE) within the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. The role focuses on COI assessment, review, monitoring, reporting, and project management to ensure responsible research across VCU.

You will maintain COI data, coordinate with investigators, participate in team meetings, and help produce metrics and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; familiarity with academic research environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, and produce accurate work.
• Experience maintaining databases, data entry, and reporting on data.

Responsibilities

• COI assessment and review related to current research proposals and protocols.
• Complete COI reviews or refer complex reviews for additional review, documenting analysis in notes.
• Contact investigators and monitor FIR completion/updates; communicate status to OVPRI.
• Initiate, finalize, and issue COI management plans; participate in COI team meetings.
• Monitor updates in AIRS and assess changes in ongoing projects for COI impacts.
• Maintain up-to-date databases and reporting metrics; QA and QA initiatives for COI program.
• Assist with analysis of institutional COI data and prepare ICOI reports or meetings.
