Job summary

University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support a domestic HIV prevention research program. The role involves conducting statistical analyses in R, building pooled analytic datasets from multiple sites, and drafting analytic plans under supervision.

You will work with site data managers, contribute to reports and manuscripts, and ensure reproducible analytic workflows. A bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree preferred, with up to 5 days of remote work

Qualifications

• Knowledge of biostatistical principles and study designs (RCTs, observational, cohort).
• Experience applying causal inference and ML methods using R.
• Proficiency in producing reproducible analyses and code documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and sites.
• Strong communication of statistical findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Implement pre-specified analyses for randomized trials and related studies under supervision.
• Build and maintain pooled analytic datasets from multiple sources including EHR/administrative data.
• Contribute to drafting analysis plans and data dictionaries with version-controlled code.
• Prepare monitoring reports, tables, figures for manuscripts and presentations.
• Coordinate with site data managers for timely data deliveries and requests.
• Participate in professional development activities and service projects.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
