Job summary

The Senior Data Analyst at UC Berkeley is responsible for writing and troubleshooting code to prepare analysis datasets, building and optimizing ETL pipelines, and linking large administrative datasets for policy research. You will work with CPL researchers and government partners to translate analytical findings into actionable insights.

Applicants should have strong programming skills in Python, R, Stata, and/or SAS, plus experience with MS SQL Server and data management practices.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Python, R, Stata, and/or SAS and Git for version control.
• Experience analyzing large datasets (>10TB).
• Experience building and maintaining databases in SQL (MS SQL Server).
• Knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented abilities.
• Ability to multi-task within demanding timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Write and troubleshoot code to prepare analysis datasets and support research tasks.
• Link large administrative datasets and maintain base hashing/ linkage code with researchers.
• Create graphs, tables, maps, and other visual displays of results.
