UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Research Accountant for a CAMPUS ONLY recruitment. This remote position supports the Office of Research, with a 100% time schedule (Mon-Fri, Day shift) and a budgeted salary of $72,000–$80,000 per year.

Under general supervision, you will monitor, reconcile, and manage extramural funding in compliance with sponsor policies, set up awards, and prepare financial reports. The role involves advising faculty and coordinating with campus units to ensure financial oversight

Responsibilities

• 40% - Financial Award Management and Reporting: Oversees fiscal management of sponsored awards, sets up fund accounts, monitors expenses, and prepares required financial reports.
• 25% - Transactions and Processes: Handles accounting, financial reporting, billing, closeout for extramural awards, and ensures compliance with policies.
• 20% - Research Administration Policy: Interprets award terms and advises on proper use of funds per sponsor and university guidelines.
