Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking an experienced research administrator to monitor, reconcile, and manage extramural funding in compliance with sponsor, UC, and institutional policies. This is a fully remote, 100% time position within the Office of Research, reporting to unit leadership.

Responsibilities include award setup, financial reporting, audits support, and advising faculty and staff on procedures. Applicants should hold a related bachelor's degree and demonstrated knowledge of research

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of sponsor, UC, and institutional policies.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and accounting.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements in research administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage extramural funding in compliance with policies.
• Set up sponsored awards in campus financial systems, including IDC.
• Prepare financial reports and closeout accounts.
• Advise faculty and campus partners on fund usage and sponsor terms.
• Support audits and ensure documentation accuracy.
