UC Santa Cruz is seeking a General Accountant 4 for campus-wide accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role operates with a high degree of independence to analyze, monitor, prepare, and reconcile financial information across multiple funds.

The incumbent will identify issues, implement improvements, and support audits. The position emphasizes training, guidance on financial systems, and collaboration with campus managers, all while maintaining strict internal controls.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent accounting experience.
• Advanced audits and transaction reviews experience.
• Fund accounting systems proficiency.
• Ability to analyze large financial datasets.
• Excel mastery with linked workbooks and macros.
• Strong written and verbal communication; discretion.
• Autonomy with ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and review complex multi-fund financial statements and ledger entries.
• Research and reconcile revenue and expenditure streams across campuses.
• Audit transaction data for compliance and prepare crosswalks.
• Reconcile campus income sources and program revenues to ledgers.
• Interpret contracts and GASB guidelines for disclosures.
• Identify issues and recommend process improvements.
• Develop training and provide guidance on systems and controls.
