Job summary

Hexion is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support a network of small manufacturing plants across North America. You will drive bad actor elimination, perform root cause analysis, and embed proactive maintenance practices to reduce downtime and improve asset performance.

The role requires leading cross-site reliability initiatives, data-driven decision making, and applying RCA, FMEA, and RCM to optimize maintenance strategies. Travel across sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in reliability, maintenance, or engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of reliability methodologies—RCA, FMEA, and preventive and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead or facilitate lightweight root cause analysis (RCA) for top bad actors and recurring failures.
• Determine the failure mode and develop lasting corrective actions.
• Apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to determine the optimal maintenance strategy for critical assets.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and update PM frequencies based on failure data.
• Track performance with MTBF, MTTR, and KPI trends and report results to leadership.
