Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Field Reimbursement Manager to serve as the reimbursement expert for nephrology and rare disease products. You will liaise with HCPs, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure patient access and navigate payer policies.

The role requires deep experience in payer dynamics, prior authorization, and benefit verifications, with strong communication and collaboration skills. Significant travel and a fully remote/field-based setup are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years in pharmaceutical industry focusing on payer policy and reimbursement.
• 3+ years in benefit verifications, prior‑authorization, or similar patient access/billing/coding experience in rare disease.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on access, coverage, reimbursement processes, claims submissions, and coding requirements.
• Analyze payer criteria and provide product access expertise to healthcare offices.
• Coordinate with Hubs on individual patient cases and enrollment of patient support services.
• Collaborate with Field Sales, Specialty Pharmacy Accounts, and other matrix partners.
• Manage daily field activities with 60–70% of time in direct stakeholder interactions across care sites.
• Execute collaborative territory plans with internal and external partners.
• Review and educate offices on payer policies, including prior authorization requirements.
• Provide feedback to internal teams on local payer trends and access issues.
• Assist in resolving patient-specific coverage challenges when requested by providers.
