Job summary

MaryRuth's is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support product formulations and claims across dietary supplements and personal care items. You will evaluate scientific research, develop substantiation materials, and ensure labeling and advertising meet FDA/FTC standards.

This remote, full-time role reports to Corporate Counsel in Legal. Ideal candidates have a biology background with 2–3+ years of evidence evaluation, familiarity with industry regulations, and strong communication skills to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology or related field (or equivalent).
• 2-3+ years evaluating clinical studies and evidence quality required.
• 1-3 years in dietary supplements/related industry preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA/FTC labeling and advertising requirements ideal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft or Google Suite required; AI research tools a plus.
• Ability to translate science into clear, practical conclusions.
• Strong research, analytical, written and verbal communication; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assess clinical studies and supporting literature; translate evidence into compliant claim language.
• Prepare substantiation materials for product claims for internal and external audiences.
• Evaluate labels, website copy, ads for consistency with approved claims and regulations.
• Support product innovation by reviewing formulations and hero ingredients for compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on domestic and international compliance questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel (<5%) may be required with notice.
