Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Full-time Remote Registered Nurse in Virginia Beach, VA to support physician practice in an ambulatory setting. The RN will perform triage, assist with examinations, administer medications, and coordinate care with physicians and office staff.

Excellent documentation and patient education are essential. Requires ADN (BSN preferred), 1–2 years ambulatory or clinic nursing experience, valid RN license, NCLEX-RN, BLS, AMB-BC preferred.

Qualifications

• An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• One to two years of ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred.
• Current state RN license is required. NCLEX-RN examination is required. BLS certification is required.
• Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manage patient messages and results within scope.
• Support population health outreach.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
