Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Immunology focusing on Inflammatory Bowel Disease to advance scientific exchange and research collaborations.

The role liaises with national and regional SLs, delivers scientifically balanced information, and supports investigator-initiated studies within Company policies. Requires a doctoral degree and a minimum of three years of immunology experience beyond the degree.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Immunology and GI diseases relevant to IBD.
• Ability to discuss scientific data with external stakeholders at a doctoral level.
• Compliant with FDA/OIG/HIPAA and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Engage with national/regional Scientific Leaders to provide approved scientific information.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain medical contacts within the company.
• Address inquiries outside scope (e.g., grants) per company policies.
• Maintain current knowledge of AOI and therapeutic area science.
• Lead or participate in discussions to align with research strategies and trials concepts.
• Identify barriers to patient enrollment and site participation as needed.
• Support scientific congresses and data exchanges for company and competitor data.
• Gather feedback to inform scientific needs and priorities.
