Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Regional Fleet Mechanic for a remote field-based role based in Southern California. You will maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks and mobile equipment across multiple sites, providing hands-on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance support to operators and maintenance staff.

Travel about 75% within the assigned territory; you will work at customer sites, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments while maintaining records, coordinating

Qualifications

• Extensive experience maintaining and repairing heavy‑duty trucks, fleet vehicles, construction equipment, mining equipment, or similar industrial assets.
• Strong diesel engine diagnostics and repair experience preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, air brake systems, heavy‑duty electrical systems, diesel powertrains, suspensions and steering, trailer systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty trucks, fleet vehicles, and mobile industrial equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and vehicle controls.
• Provide technical support to operators and maintenance personnel regarding equipment operation, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting.
• Perform advanced diagnostics to identify and resolve complex equipment and performance issues.
• Maintain detailed maintenance, service, and inspection records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate repair activities to ensure equipment remains operational and compliant.
• Order, inventory, and manage maintenance parts, tools, and consumable supplies.
• Evaluate repair alternatives and recommend equipment replacements, upgrades, or outsourced repairs when appropriate.
• Maintain company‑provided tools, diagnostic equipment, and service resources in good condition.
• Ensure maintenance facilities, garages, and work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
• Report recurring equipment, vendor, or operational issues to management.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with operators, vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Support all company safety initiatives and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety requirements.
• Maintain all applicable licenses, certifications, and qualifications necessary to perform fleet maintenance work.
• Travel throughout the assigned region to support equipment maintenance and field service needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
