Canonical is hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally focused team of field engineers across Presales and Professional Services. The role involves solution architecture, design, and delivery for customers in a remote-first environment.

We seek experts with deep Linux knowledge, hands-on coding and scripting, and a track record of coaching teams. This role operates across major time zones and requires strong English communication and leadership ability.

Qualifications

• Extensive embedded Linux experience – Yocto or other.
• Extensive Linux experience – Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
• Fluency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Ability to manage a small team and handle customer engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services.
• Promote Canonical technologies and act as a trusted advisor to customers.
• Work remotely in a single major time zone.
• Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
• Identify and measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
• Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
