Job summary

Canonical is seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to extend our reach in mission-critical industries. You will drive customer engagements, translate requirements into robust IoT solutions, and contribute to security-focused Ubunt u Core initiatives.

You should be fluent in English, have strong embedded Linux experience, and be ready to travel up to 30% for customer meetings and conferences. Remote work options apply where suitable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive Linux experience—Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
• Distribution/Packaging experience (deb, rpm, ...).
• Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot...).
• Fluency in at least one of Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Professional written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Result-oriented, ability to multi-task.
• Personal drive to meet commitments.
• Humility and quick study.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology.
• Elaborate solutions to be proposed to prospective clients.
• Participate in delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux.
• Convey market requirements to key stakeholders and contribute to solution development.
• Be a customer advocate and trusted advisor to the company.
