Job summary

Sentara Independence, in Virginia Beach, is seeking a Referral Specialist for the CAC Department. This remote role requires occasional on-site travel when connectivity or power is affected at Sentara Independence or Hampton locations.

You will schedule patients, verify insurance eligibility via the real-time eligibility tool, and pre-register patients while ensuring data accuracy. A High School Diploma is required and 1 year of customer service experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience is required.
• Medical Terminology is preferred.
• Epic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients and pre-register them.
• Verify insurance eligibility through the real-time eligibility tool and validate data accuracy.
• Act as liaison between providers, patients, insurance companies and clinical departments to schedule patients.
