Job summary

Ardán is seeking an experienced title underwriting professional to support real estate closings in Texas and neighboring states. You will work with title examiners, agents and underwriters to determine insurability, assess risks and prepare guidelines for staff and clients.

The role requires strong knowledge of Texas real estate law, 5+ years in title insurance, and the ability to present courses to agents and attorneys. Some travel within the region is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in title insurance or closely related real estate underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of Texas Basic Manual for Title Insurance.
• Excellent research skills using Westlaw or Lexis.
• Experience in drafting and presenting professional education materials.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with title examiners, agents and underwriters to assess insurability.
• Analyze and evaluate recorded documents affecting title ownership and description.
• Explain title chain, exceptions, and requirements to clients and managers.
• Identify title defects and formulate curative solutions.
• Assess risks and communicate with managers or underwriters as needed.
• Review surveys and related documents for closings when required.
• Support deadlines for closings and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Prepare underwriting guidelines and memos; liaison with departments as needed.
• Travel within Texas and surrounding states for trainings or seminars.
