Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a Consumer Loan Closing Support Specialist to provide critical operational support across the real estate loan closing process. You will work with Lenders, Underwriters, Processors and Closers to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely funding for consumer real estate transactions.

You may be located anywhere within our footprint (FL, GA, AL, VA, SC, NC, TX, CO) with a remote/hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required; College Degree in related field preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years of consumer real estate loans and loan documentation; closing experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook; knowledge of NewGen preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport and elicit request/issues details from Support Team Lenders and Customers; interact courteously with managers, coworkers, and customers.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service while supporting a positive borrower experience.
• Respond to and resolve support requests within established SLAs, including questions on transfers, flood determinations, title work, insurance, disclosures, titling, contracts, surveys, VIN verification, entity documentation, payoffs, HUD/closing statements, and funding questions.
• Document all pertinent employee identification information and request details.
• Prioritize and schedule requests; escalate as needed to appropriate department.
• Alert management to trends in requests or incidents.
• Accept other duties as assigned.
