Job summary

Altus Group is seeking a Real Estate Debt Valuation Analyst to join our Irvine and/or Los Angeles office. This role involves learning debt valuation, appraisal management, and financial analysis, as well as client workflow processes. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree (GPA 3.5 or higher is preferred) and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred (GPA 3.5 or higher); degree not required.
• Internship experience within the CRE industry is an asset.
• ARGUS experience is an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, Index/Match, pivot tables).
• Exposure to business writing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive communication and ability to work independently or within a team in professional or academic settings.

Responsibilities

• Learn and handle administrative tasks in debt valuation/appraisal management.
• Complete market analysis for a subject property and determine reasonable valuation assumptions.
• Prepare discounted cash flow models primarily using Excel.
• Read and understand various loan documents and review appraisal reports.
• Incorporate property-specific adjustments based on collateral performance.
• Utilize research resources such as Bloomberg.
• Complete On-Boarding Training as outlined by the Professional Development Flight Plan.
