Job summary

Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Special Counsel to join our Civil Litigation practice. This role offers the chance to steer complex defense matters for a sophisticated client base.

The ideal candidate will have a North Carolina license and at least five years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, with a track record of independent case management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice in North Carolina.
• Minimum of five (5) years of civil litigation experience, preferably in defense of complex matters.
• Experience managing cases through all phases of litigation, including discovery, motions, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
• Experience in Construction Litigation, Products Liability, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, or Commercial Litigation is preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload, develop litigation strategy, and deliver high-quality client representation.
• Strong litigation writing, research, and analytical abilities to draft complex motions and briefs.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a civil litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Develop and implement case strategy, file and argue motions, and oversee discovery and depositions.
• Advocate for clients at mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and maintain strong client relationships.
